Популярного в соцсети Instagram нью-йоркского фитнес-блогера Карину Ветрано (Karina Vetrano) нашли мертвой в парке Спринг-Крик в районе станции метро Хауард-Бич, где американка обычно совершала ежедневную пробежку. Об этом сообщает New York Post.
Как установили сотрудники правоохранительных органов, Ветрано была задушена. На ее теле также нашли следы сексуального насилия.
30-летнюю Карину обнаружил ее отец, Филип Ветрано (Philip Vetrano), которого обеспокоило длительное отсутствие дочери. Мужчина обратился в полицию и участвовал в поисках.
На аккаунт поклонницы фитнеса в Instagram были подписаны около 12 тысяч пользователей. Девушка регулярно публиковала снимки со своих пробежек и тренировок.
Yesterday, a 30 year old woman, St. John's alum, was sexually assaulted and murdered along her 5pm jog in Queens.. I can't tell you how frustrating this is. Sad, frustrating, and scary.. This could have been me, it could have been one of my girls.. As women, we are always told to play it safe; when not to go out, what not to do, what to wear.. We have a culture that teaches us how to "not get raped" or victimized in our own neighborhoods while doing the things we love, yet we still aren't safe. It isn't fair. This should bother all of us.. Not only where we the same age or very close to our fathers but she was also a woman of Queens who lost her life last night while out for a evening run.
This could have been me, this could have been any of my friends who have been enjoying the summer evenings with a good run but unfortunately it was her, and I am so sorry.
My deepest sympathies go out to her family. May God give them the comfort and peace that they seek and may the soul of their loved one rest in peace ??
